Apparent ISIS statement claims Cairo police building bombing

Islamic State supporters have seemingly claimed responsibility for an early morning bomb blast at a secret police building in Cairo in a social media post.

The statement, whose authenticity dpa cannot verify, says the attack was “in revenge for the martyrs of Arab Sharkas”, a village where six militants and two police officers died in a 2014 shootout.

“We have promised God that we will not rest while there is a single prisoner or torture victim in your hands,” the statement adds.
