Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has responded to her dethronement as the longest cooking marathon record holder.
The Guinness World Records (GWR) announced on Tuesday that Alan Fisher, an Irish chef, had cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes, breaking Baci’s previous record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
“Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned ,” the statement reads.
“Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan .”
Fisher also broke the record for the longest baking marathon with a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes, according to GWR.
Baci, in response to Fisher’s achievement, stated that she is grateful to have held the famous record.
She also complimented Fisher on his “huge achievement” and wished him well.

In June, Baci was certified by GWR as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
