Angela White, aka Blac Chyna, is still going strong two years after revealing her bodily transformation. She shared photos of herself on Instagram to commemorate one year of sobriety.
The ex-reality star shared her experience with the caption: “September 14, 2023 marks my one-year of sobriety this year taught me a lot about myself. I made up my mind on September 14, 2022 that I was done with the alcohol. This process is not easy but I did it, I plan on continuing practicing sobriety.”
The 35-year-old also thanked the people who have been actively supporting her and encouraged others who find themselves on a similar journey, saying, “I’m hoping that when you see this, this will inspire you if you are struggling with any addiction, just know that you can do it and you are worth it. God loves you. It’s so many different apps, and groups that can help you with this journey, and you’re not alone.”
As part of the celebration, she appeared as a guest on The Tamron Hall Show, where she revealed how determined she was to follow through on her commitment.
“Not even a little shot, a little wine, a little this, nothing. Like ‘No, I’m good. No, I’m straight. I’ll take a Red Bull,’” Chyna said to Hall, according to People. She went on to say that the hope of being able to help others in ways other than money inspires her on her journey to recovery.
“What helped me was bringing myself down to reality and then realizing, like, ‘OK, am I hurting or helping other people around me?’ And helping not with money or things like that but I didn’t want to continue hurting the people around me or even have my kids grow up, seeing me doing this stuff,” she revealed.
The host then summoned Chyna’s mother, reality TV star Tokyo Toni, who presented her daughter with a bouquet of helium-filled balloons. Toni, 51, and Chyna reconciled earlier this summer after a brief spat.
Toni hugged her daughter and sat on the couch with her, describing how tough it was for her to raise Chyna as a single teen mother. She expressed her delight in witnessing her daughter’s transformation. “What it does for me to see her growth, because Hollywood, it does things to people. It changes you and to see her be different, meaning in a bad way, I had to go in to pull her out,” she remarked.
According to ET, Chyna has been open about her self-care journey over the last year, which has involved taking many procedures to dissolve facial fillers and reversing cosmetic operations such as breast reduction and silicone injections in her buttocks.
“Seeing her sober, no makeup, fillers gone, this is who I birthed. Angela. This is who I birthed. And she has, for everyone in the world to know, she has the biggest heart in the world. She has a very big heart,” her mother shared.
Chyna appeared on the show without makeup to emphasize her transformation. “This is my day,” she remarked. “I get dressed and I do the makeup and the glam and everything, and I feel like that’s more of the Blac Chyna-brand side. This is just me, this is Angela,” explaining her decision to go barefaced to Hall.
To share in the joy, the talk show host gave her a purple “Congratulations” cake and a bouquet of flowers.
