After announcing that his third wedding has been cancelled, Somizi says all talks surrounding the event, which was supposed to take place in Italy, have been put on hold.
The Idols SA judge revealed in February that he and husband Mohale were planning a third wedding in Italy which was scheduled to take place in July.
Plans quickly changed as the Coronavirus continued to spread, with Italy being one of the countries heavily affected by the pandemic.
“We have decided to cancel our wedding in Italy due to the coronavirus epidemic,” Somizi wrote in an Instagram post on 6 March.
Speaking to Channel24 at a screening on Thursday for his Showmax wedding special, the TV personality confirmed that plans for his third wedding are still on hold.
“We still have not spoken about it, because at the moment we don’t know what the future holds in terms of the virus. No one is safe, including ourselves,” he said.
He added that preparations would probably only resume within a month.
“As much as we think we have the lowest number of infections [in South Africa], we can’t even start to talk about it until we are sure where to go and what the status is. It’s [the wedding] something that we’re going to talk about probably in a month or so.”
