Here is the full list of the musicians who earn nominations at NEA awards.The 13th edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Awards is happening in 2018 and for this year’s award event, several nominations have been made that particularly touched on the music industry in Nigeria.
In this light, quite a lot of A-list Nigerian musicians have been enlisted as nominees in several categories. Some of the male artists that were nominated for awards are the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Olamide. Tiwa Savage and Simi are some of the illustrious female musicians to earn a place in the nominations.
The award night which is to hold on Saturday, November 10, at Washington DC will not just recognize feats achieved in the Nigerian music scene alone, it will also reward accomplishments done in other sectors of the entertainment industry like the Nollywood movie industry, disc jockeying, and comedy.
Also, record executives who performed brilliantly well during the past season will be acknowledged. A new category featuring Nigerian artistes that are representing the country well in the diaspora has also been added.
Of all the categories, the one that stands tall is the Afropop Male Artist of the Year and for this, Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, 2baba and Kizz Daniel are going up against one another to bag the award.
Another interesting category is the Afropop Female Artist of the Year and not surprisingly, the likes of Yemi Alade, Simi, Seyi Shay, Tiwa Savage and Niniola have been nominated for the award.
The organisers of NEA 2018 released the nominees for the entire categories on social media. In all, there are 22 of them, some of which are out to recognize the Best Male and Female Lead Role in Film, the Album of the year, Alternative Artist of the year, Trailblazer of the year and so many more.
