Royal Tour: The Duke And Duchess First Stop In South Africa

Just four months after giving birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Meghan Markle is joining her husband Prince Harry on an official tour of South Africa.

The trip marks the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first royal tour as parents, having previously visited Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Morocco alone following their royal wedding in 2018.

After the pair spend time in South Africa, 35 year-old Harry is set to continue his tour across Angola, Malawi and Botswana, while the 38 year-old former Suits actress is expected to stay in the family’s original location with their son.

Despite her limited travels, we’re sure the new mum’s style will put the ‘Meghan Effect’ into full force.

Day 1: Visit to Nyanga township in Mayamiko dress

For the couple’s first stop on their 10-day royal tour they visited the Nyanga township, with the Duchess opting for a monochromatic wrap dress in a leopard print on Monday 23rd September.

The cotton dress, currently sold out, costs £69 from the ethical clothing brand Mayakimo.

Named the Dalitso, the dress is: ‘Sourced and made in Malawi by the talented artisans at the Mayamiko workshop.’ You can even scan the QR code on the care label of the garment to find out more about the team who created the glorious dress.
.The mother-of-one paired the flattering midi dress with her trusty Castañer espadrilles wedges.

The couple landed in Cape Town, with baby Archie in tow, this morning, and their first stop was visiting a Justice Desk initiative in Nyanga, which teaches children about their rights and provides self-defence classes and female empowerment training to young girls in the community.
