Rapper 6ix9ine Hospitalised After Being Beaten in Gym Attack

American Rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine Released From Jail Over Coronavirus Fears

The US rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been hospitalized following an incident inside a fitness gym in South Florida.

A now-viral video shows at least three guys ambushing the 26-year-old rapper, whose actual name is Daniel Hernandez, inside the fitness gym’s washroom.

Before his assailants fled the scene, the controversial hip-hop star was beaten to a pulp.

As the facility’s management heard the noise, police and ambulances were dispatched to the location.

Hernandez was then transferred in an ambulance to a nearby hospital.

According to TMZ, 6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, stated that the rapper tried his best to fend off his attackers, but there were too many of them.

The rapper’s counsel added that he did not have security with him at the time of the attack.

Lazzaro stated that he intends to contact authorities to assure Hernandez’s safety.

Hernandez was caught and sentenced to two years in jail in 2019 on nine charges related to his involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods gang, including racketeering, drug trafficking, and firearm violations.

He was released from federal prison in April 2020 after helping with US authorities to facilitate the arrest and imprisonment of numerous of his gang members.

It remains to be known, however, whether the gym attack was related to the rapper’s collaboration with US officials.
