President Uhuru, Ralia Spat At Ntimama’s Burial An Embarrassment To Kenyans, Says Mudavadi

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi has condemned President Uhuru Kenyatta over his response to opposition chief Raila Odinga when they exchanged words at the burial of William ole Ntimama.

Raila said Ntimama had told him how ‘one hand’ of Jubilee was frustrating Narok residents.

President Uhuru however dismissed Raila and told him to ‘leave his house’.

“My brother Raila, Jubilee has only one hand and leave my house alone. Build yours and we meet at the ballot. There is a difference between ‘eating meat and swallowing saliva’. We are eating the meat, you continue swallowing saliva,” President Uhuru said.

Mudavadi said the two leaders’ utterances were an ‘embarrassment’ to Kenyans.

“Any leader must exercise restraint. There was no need for the juvenile exchange at such a solemn occasion,” the ANC party leader said a statement to the newsrooms.

The President was actually justifying the ‘it is our time to eat’ crude reminder of what Mzee Jomo Kenyatta asked Bildad Kaggia,” he said.

“Uhuru was telling Kenyans; ‘I am eating, what are you waiting for? Join the gravy train’,” Mudavadi added.

Mudavadi also told off Raila over his ‘call with Ntimama’ before he died.

“Why would you want to claim a closeness only the dead can bear witness? It was also horrible to hear the president own up to corruption and chide those who are not partaking of it,” he added.
