PHOTOS: Activists Call For Action Against Corruption

Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi led hundreds of protesters to Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park over the alleged misappropriation of funds by government officials.

The activists are demonstrating against among other things the Afya House scandal that has reportedly cost taxpayers Ksh5 billion.


While carrying placards written “Act On Corruption Now Or Resign”, the protestors challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to take action and stop what they termed as looting and massive corruption within the government.

The protesters are seeking the resignation of Health CS Cleopa Mailu and Principle Secretary Nicholas Muraguri.



Meanwhile, Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu appeared before the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over the alleged misappropriation of funds at the ministry.

At the same time, former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru appeared before the parliamentary public accounts committee to be questioned over the Ksh1.6 billion national yNational Youth Service scandal.
