Nollywood Actor, Yul Edochie Says Spending Much On Burial Is A Waste Of Money

Nollywood actor turned politician Yul Edochie has expressed concern at the growing trend among Nigerians where families spend lavishly during burial celebrations.

The popular actor in a post on social media revealed how surprised he was when a friend asked him for a huge amount of money to help celebrate his dead father.

Yul Edochie then explained that it was better to celebrate people while they are alive so that they can also take part in the celebration and not when they are dead and gone.

In his tweet, he wrote:

“I don’t understand the concept of spending so much money on burials. Total waste to me!

“A person’s life should be celebrated when he or she is alive to join in the celebration not in death.

“Some1 once asked me for a loan of some millions to use & bury his father. I was speechless”
