After nearly 2 years of no love lost between Nigerian pop star, Davido and his first baby mama’s uncle, Ovation boss, Chief Dele Momodu, the two have finally buried the hatchet.
In a very emotional show last night at the annual Ovation Carol, Chief Dele Momodu took to the stage to announce what he described as the “biggest act of forgiveness” as he invited Davido to the stage. Both hugged as the crowd cheered on. See video:
In an Instagram post, Dele Momodu revealed how Davido’s father helped mend the fences between himself and Davido: “True reconciliation, great joy… God bless DAVIDO… God bless DR ADEDEJI ADELEKE for his uncommon maturity… God bless the MOMODU family for that simple heart… We are a family… “
You would recall that things went sore back in December 2015 following a custody drama between the singer’s and his baby mama, Sophia Momodu who happens to be Dele Momodu’s niece over their daughter, Imade. Davido’s family accused Sophia of being unfit to care for the child claiming her love for drugs as reason. Sophia on the other hand released chats of Davido disrespecting her family and threatening to take their daughter away from her. Davido went on to call out the veteran pressman for meddling in the fight between himself and Sophia even dedicating his feature on Falz “Bad Baddo Baddest” and Humble Smith’s “Osinachi” to cussing Dele and Sophia out.
Also in 2016 OLIC, knowing that Dele Momodu was present at the concert, Davido took to the stage to perform ‘Bad Baddo Baddest” and repeated the lyrics “Dele na my boy”, which thoroughly offended the press man who was seen leaving the venue.
Thankfully, the matter has been laid to rest!
