Oladips, the Nigerian rapper, has posted a “proof of life” video on his Instagram profile, just days after it was claimed that he had died.
Oladips’ management reported on November 15 that the singer had died after suffering personal issues for over two years.
Fans and colleagues in the industry were shocked to learn of his death.
Shortly later, the rapper’s management published the 17-track ‘Superhero Adugbo’ album.
Wavy, a longtime friend of Oladips, recently shared a video of the rapper declaring “he is alive.”
He also said that the rapper faked his death and would return on the internet if his record hit the top of the music charts.
Oladips’ video was uploaded on Instagram on Thursday.
In the video, he can be seen dancing to a song from his new album while his mother dances in the background.
The caption reads, “orisa bi iya osi, proof of life”.
According to NewsofAfrica, the post announcing Oladips’ death has been removed from his Instagram page.
The motivations for Oladips’ death fake are unknown.
On March 24, 1995, Oladips was born. He is from the state of Ogun.
After winning D’banj’s ‘King Is Here’ competition, the rapper rose to notoriety.
The victory earned him a record deal with the Edge Records label, which is controlled by another rapper, Reminisce.
