Nigerian Musician, Burna Boy Dominates Apple Music Most Streamed Songs In Sub-Saharan Africa

This is Burna Boy‘s year! And that statement rings truer when you begin to review Burna’s achievement in 2019.

In addition to the ever-growing list of the Afro-fusion artiste’s accomplishments, Burna not only tops the recently released Apple Music list of Most Streamed Songs in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2019, but he also dominates the list with five of his songs.

The Burna Boy’s songs that feature on the list are from the singer’s latest album “African Giant” which was released in July of this year. The album has been nominated for the 62nd Grammy Awards in the Best World Music Album category.

Noteworthy is the fact that in a list that reviews music listening habits in Sub-Saharan Africa – a region that consists of all African countries that are fully or partially located south of the Sahara – Nigerian songs feature nine times out of ten. Interestingly, the only non-Nigerian song on the list, “Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce has a Nigerian feature.
