Nigeria: Soyinka Urges Buhari To Call Emergency Economic Conference.

Abuja – Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to convene an emergency economic conference to enable relevant experts proffer solutions to the nation’s plummeting economy.

Soyinka made the call in Abuja on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed

He said the conference would enable experts diagnose the problems currently facing the country and make necessary recommendations for government to get the economy out of the woods.

He, however, blamed the current economic downturn on the rot perpetuated by previous administrations.

The Nobel Laureate reiterated his support for the Federal Government’s anti-graft war.

He said he was impressed with the way the government was recovering looted funds and stressed that the tempo should be maintained.
