Following the outcry that greeted Thursday’s appointment of members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s kitchen cabinet, there are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have begun moves to compensate the South-East for not getting any appointments so far in the current administration, reports Punch.
Out of 31 appointments made so far, 24 of the appointees are from the North and seven are from the South.
The South-East has no representation in the Buhari-led government.
The President according to sources is not unmindful of criticisms that greeted the alleged lopsided appointments.
He is planning to give some states in the South-East zone more than one ministerial slot.
The government also plans to compensate the zone with board and ambassadorial appointments.
