Residents of Ekiti State have been left in shock following a series of attacks by cultists believed to be students of higher learning institutions.

According to Punch, five people are believed to have been killed in the attacks, the cause of which remains to be seen.

Twenty suspects have allegedly been arrested by a community vigilante group, who has since handed over the suspects to police.

While confirming the death of one person, Oba Adejimi Adu revealed that the attacks are believed to have been carried out by students from Ado Ekiti.

“I can only confirm to you that only one person has been killed, the attacks were carried out by suspected students’ cultists from Ado who invaded Ikere to carry out the attacks.

“They were coming for another reprisal on Wednesday when 20 of them were arrested by the vigilantes in the town,” he said.
