The Brazilian footballer, Neymar might be out injured at the moment, but he didn’t let it disrupt his 27th birthday celebrations.
The Paris Saint-Germain star even sported on theme red crutches for his mega birthday bash in the French capital as he refuses to let his injury setback get him down.
The former Barcelona man hosted a glittering birthday bash with some star-studded names amongst the 200 guests to celebrate reaching his latest milestone.
The “Red Night” themed event saw Neymar greet guests on the red carpet with his colourful crutches, matching blazer and hat.
He was reportedly on the verge of cancelling the event as he prepares to be side-lined until mid-April but eventually decided to try to lift his spirits by celebrating anyway.
“What I wanted the most as a birthday present today is a new metatarsal, so I could be on the field fighting and doing what I love the most, which is playing soccer,” he was quoted as saying in a birthday speech.
“It’s been very hard to be on crutches all this time. Every athlete knows how hard that is.
“They (his PSG team-mates) are giving me all the strength possible to help me return as soon as possible.”
Paris Saint-Germain skipper and Brazil team-mate Thiago Silva plus former Manchester United man Angel Di Maria were among those in attendance, as well as Brazilian world surf champion Gabriel Medina.
The event was hosted at the Pavillon Gabriel, near the Champs-Elysees in the French capital.
The Brazilian has also received a special birthday gift from Beats by Dr Dre, teaming up with the headphone giants to release a special, custom-designed set available to fans in spring.
