Over the weekend, Lifetime aired both a biopic and documentary about Talk Show Host Wendy Williams. While both films featured startling revelations from the TV & Media Mogul, it was her confessions in the build-up to the film that has everyone talking. More specifically her recent disclosure of an affair with Method Man that has his wife Tamika Smith speaking out.
The double-feature took a deep dive into Wendy’s past as a radio host and party promoter before her jump to the small screen. She took fans behind the scenes on her rise to radio prominence in the early to mid-’90s, her drug abuse, and her tumultuous relationship with now ex-husband Kevin Hunter. The most shocking confessions during the movie? Her recount of allegedly being date raped by 80’s one-hit wonder Sherrick, and a relationship with Hip-hop legend Eric B that resulted in him ruining her credit and her having an abortion.
Not covering in the movie was a steamy one night stand with Wu Tang’s Method Man. The Power star and Williams reportedly got close one night while both attending the same event. After hitting it off, the two left hand and hand and went back to her condo. Speaking with DJ Suss One she said ”The only thing I did… I smoked a blunt with Method Man while I gave him a bath and it was a one-night-stand.”
“And he’ll deny it, maybe not. It wasn’t in the [biopic] because Method Man is still very angry at me. I don’t know [why]. For being me, for telling the truth.” she stated.
Taking to her instagram account today, Method Man’s wife was not too pleased about the recent confession and had a lot to say about Williams and her past reporting’s on their family. “For years I kept my silence while Wendy Williams launched constant verbal attacks against my husband, myself, and our family.”
Smith went on to say that while she’s ignored Williams in the past, this recent allegation was a step too far. She dismissed Williams confession as an attempt to increase ratings for her “sad” biopic, and states that Williams has been attacking her family for years.
“In an obvious attempt to increase ratings for her sad biopic, her struggling TV show, and her burnt-out career, Wendy has once again targeted my husband,” she said. “It’s a pattern that she has repeated for years. It was clear that she was sick, and that she was struggling with a lot of issues including self-hate and low self-esteem,” Smith said. “Over the years those issues have made her increasingly ugly, both inside and out. And no amount of plastic surgery can fix the ugliness inside of her.” Read more below.
