Meghan Markle Removes ‘HRH’And ‘Royal’ Titles From Smart Works Website

Meghan Markle has officially removed her ‘HRH’ and ‘Royal’ titles from the Smart Works website.

In 2019, just before her successful tour of Africa, the Duchess of Sussex launched her very own five-piece Smart Works capsule collection to help unemployed women get back on their feet.

“As women, it’s 100 per cent our responsibility, I think, to support and uplift one another, to champion each other as we aim to succeed, to not set each other up for failure but instead to really be there rallying around each other and say, ‘I want to help you.’,” Meghan commented at the time.

Of course, this was months before she and Harry decided to take a step back as senior members of the royal family. With their decision, came the queen’s decision that not only would the couple lose their royal funds, they would also have to give up their HRH titles.

And although they will only officially exit the royal firm on 31 March, it looks as though they’ve already started making changes.

According to People, the website has a section about Meghan called “Our Patron, The Duchess of Sussex” where it previously read “Our Royal Patron”. Any mention of “HRH” and “royal” has also been removed.

This is the first step Harry and Meghan have taken in moving towards their new life independent of the royal family, but have naturally shifted their focus for the time being with the world tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are all in this together, and as a global community, we can support each other through this process – and build a digital neighbourhood that feels safe for every one of us.

“We look forward to sharing more over the days and weeks to come,” they wrote on Instagram recently.
