Gospel artist Bahati has found himself at loggerheads with a section of Kenyans after a video of him smoking circulated the internet. The ‘Wanani’ hitmaker has been off social media for a while. On his return, he announced the release of his album; which he introduced with a video of himself smoking ‘sigara kubwa’
The gospel singer has been criticized for his behaviour, with some claiming he should follow the gospel side of things. And smoking shouldn’t be one of them. The video had mixed reactions from his fans; with some claiming he has joined Willy Paul.
Khaligraph Jones reacted;
”Iyo Bangi Umefundishwa kuvuta Juzi naona imekuchanganya Akili”
His wife Diana Marua reacted;
”Uuuuuwwwwiiii #FIKRAZABAHATI I’m already waiting on YouTube”
Recently, gospel hasn’t been doing well compared to secular; which most artists are turning to; including Willy Paul. It’s also important to note that Ringtone has been complaining about gospel not performing well in the local industry. This means that Bahati should make his fans to still believe in him. But from their comments after his video, it seems like some of them are detaching themselves from his music.
One of his fans reacted
”I used to be a fan of your music, but now I’m not. Wacha nipambane na hali yangu…”.
