Kenya: Mixed Reactions As Citizen TV Political Journalist Resigns After 10 Years

Outspoken Citizen TV journalist, Hussein Mohamed has called it quits at the Royal Media Services’ owned station after 10 years.

The tough political news anchor made this public announcement on Friday, revealing that he will be taking a break from the art.

Clocking 10 years now, he leaves with delight as he thanks his employer and fans for the successful path he has had in the last decade of his career.

It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS. I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon.

However, fans don’t believe that he has literally come to a halt, rather presume the political journalist might be headed to Betty Kyallo’s current home, K24.

He remains acknowledged as one of Kenya’s top political show host who directed hard-hitting questions to his guests – mostly from the political field.

He is known for his always anticipated Tuesday news show, dubbed ‘Newsnight’ where he mainly interviewed politicians on prime time news.

Fans, politicians, colleagues all turned up to wish him the very best that life has to offer, on his next endeavors, expressing:

SakajaJohnson All the best bro. You’ve distinguished yourself as a knowledgeable professional, an adroit journalist and a fair moderator. You have set the bar quite high. I wish you success in the next chapter of your life. You can always count on my support.

You are leaving us with a biased team…please let us know your next station, we have to move with you, Goodbye RMS
Waah the best anchors in Kenya …I hope BBC is knocking at the door. You have left us with nothing actually that would ask to those tough questions for real. Anyway as a Kloppite rem ::YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE
I will miss the ‘hardtalk’ interviews with politicians. You tactfully managed your emotions with a smile even when you knew they were mean with answers.

An objective anchor, and one that interrogates almost all the interviewees to the core, is leaving

. This sounds a big loss, a huge defiant to the royal media service. Wish you the best of luck bro
