Karurua Villagers Receive Running Water Since Independence

Residents living in Karurua Village are counting their blessings after they finally received running water since independence.

According to Citizen TV water is now available to 500 households.

Residents showed great jubilation when they helped lay the foundations.

The initiative was conducted by an unknown foundation but urged government to lend a helping hand to ensure the project is complete.

According to the Joint Monitoring Programme’s 2012 report, access to safe water supplies throughout Kenya is 59% and access to improved sanitation is 32%. However there is still an unmet need in rural and urban areas for both water and sanitation.
