‘If You Don’t Like What I Post, Just Unfollow’ – South African Actress, Nobuhle Mimi Slams Trolls

Actress Nobuhle Mimi Mahlasela who plays the role of Aggie on SABC 2’s 7de Laan took to social media to talk about the impact harsh words can have on people and called for an end to cyberbullying.

In an Instagram video, Nobuhle says she’s noticed how people pick on her, each time she shared a post of herself.

She said it was not okay that some people felt the need to make nasty comments and shame others.

“It is unnecessary guys. It is so unnecessary. No, don’t do that. It is not right,” the actress said.

She added that often it is the women who feel the need to always be mean to her and others.

“We are supposed to be standing together and supporting each other and loving each other. Yet, all the negativity and bad vibes are coming from other females.”

She said being a public figure does not mean she should be a target for abuse.

“If you don’t like what I post or don’t agree with what I am posting. It’s simple, just unfollow me or better yet, just block me.”

“Don’t be a mean girl. Stop cyberbullying. Stop body-shaming,” she added.

The actress is not the first South African celebrity who has experienced cyberbullying.

Other celebs who’ve had to deal with this is Kelly Khumalo for the Senzo Meyiwa murder case, Khanyi Mbau for her skin as well as Nomvelo Makhanya for her looks.
