Guinean President, Alpha Condé, Elected AU President

President of Guinea Republic, Alpha Condé, has been elected Monday in Addis-Ababa president of the African Union (AU), during the Conference of the Heads of State and Government.

Earlier, the 28th AU Summit opened in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia.

Alpha Condé replaces Chadian president Idris Deby.

In accordance with the system of alternation, the AU presidency will return to the West African region.

Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal partakes in the Summit representing President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
