The husband of Afia Schwarzenegger, Lawrence Abrokwa was Monday granted bail in the sum of GH¢20,000 with three sureties by the Accra Circuit Court.
All the sureties according to the court, presided over by Mrs Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye, must be gainfully employed.
Abrokwah is facing five charges including domestic violence with emotional, verbal and psychological abuse, publication of obscene material, assault and threat of harm.
His lawyer Maurice Ampaw prayed the court to grant him bail since he reported himself to the police and will be willing to assist in the trial.
Kasapa FM’s court correspondent Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman reported that the presiding judge, Mrs. Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye warned the parties involved in the case to cease speaking to the media.
The case has been adjourned to October 11, 2017.
Abrokwah is being tried over a video he purportedly recorded of Afia in a headscarf, trying to cover her nakedness with a white towel.
