The honest truth ✋🏽⁣ ⁣ My throwback Thursday is dedicated to this version of me. To a lot of you this might seem like the ‘perfect’ body shape, but I’d like to share with all of you what a mental and physical sacrifice it was to achieve this. ⁣ ⁣ There are a lot of side effects that come with being super lean that isn’t talked about often enough. Being this size lead to…⁣ – hair loss (I had to have extensions to cover up the fact that I lost all my hair)⁣ – constant shivering 🥶 ⁣ – loss of my period (which is super scary since having a normal cycle is crucial for reproductive purposes) 🛑 ⁣ – social isolation (I could never eat anything that I didn’t prepare myself so I could never join friends for dinner at a restaurant)⁣ – orthorexia (complete obsession with ‘clean eating’) ⁣ ⁣ I hope this encourages you to think twice when trying to achieve the ‘perfect’ figure. The only thing we should be chasing is health, happiness and an abundance mindset. ⁣ ⁣ #health #healthybody #healthymind #southafrica #missSA #orthorexia #life #lead #grow #inspire #healthisnotasize #reproductivehealth #doctor #beautyqueen #balance #bikini #mindset #selflove #bodylove
