Singer R. Kelly recently admitted that he is afraid of being killed while in jail.
The singer is currently behind bars after being denied bond by a judge earlier this week.
According to reports, Kelly told his lawyer, Nicole Blank Becker that he doesn’t mind staying in solitary confinement in federal prison because he feels safer in there. He told Becker that his inmates are aware of the fact that he’s been accused of sex crimes involving underage girls.
But Becker recently told TMZ that she does not think that this is a good idea. According to his lawyer, being in solitary could be problematic as he doesn’t have anyone to lean on.
The I Believe I Can Fly hitmaker appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to 13 alleged sex trafficking charges.
Prosecutors were adamant that Kelly is held in jail as the risk of obstruction is still ongoing.
“[Kelly has the] unique ability to influence and intimidate witnesses and victims, and that continues to this day. It’s who the defendant is.”
The singer denied all allegations against him.
