Dairy Board Nabs 1500 Litres Of Poisoned Milk In Nakuru

The Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) has nabbed over 1000 litres of milk which had been mixed with hydrogen peroxide.

KDB’s development officer, Paul Ndungu said that the milk was nabbed from shops within Nakuru town and its estates.

Speaking after an operation in the town, Ndungu said that a big percentage of the milk being sold in local shops is poisoned.

He called on residents to be extra keen when buying milk even from the supermarkets.

“Today we have nabbed 1500 litres of milk that has been mixed with formalin and hydrogen peroxide,” said Ndungu.

During the operation 15 traders were arrested and arraigned in court for selling poisoned milk.

The case is being heard Thursday.
