Britain To Scale Up Economic Package To Ghana- UK Top Diplomat

During his visit to Ghana, the UK top diplomat said on Accra-based Joy FM.“As you know, the UK package to Ghana is around GBP130 million and we are determined to keep that going as part of its global vision,”

He made the statement after he paid a visit to Blue Skies, a fresh fruit exporting firm owned by a British national.

In 2016, the British government cut aid to Ghana owing to the country’s new economic status as a middle-income country.

“We hope to have an even deeper friendship going forward and particularly we want to make sure that British firms come here in greater numbers and in greater strengths to invest in Ghana and, if I may say so, take advantage of the fantastic opportunities there are in this country,”  Mr Johnson said at a joint press conference with President Akufo-Addo.
