Leading rappers Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion have made history by creating a chain reaction of accolades. The two artists have occupied the first and second spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with their remixes of their popular songs, Say So and Savage.
Doja Cat features Nicki Minaj on the Say So remix and Megan Thee Stallion features Beyoncé on the Savage remix – all four women have made history, though.
According to Forbes: “This is the first time that a collaboration between two female rappers has topped the Hot 100 and the first time that two female rappers in lead roles have occupied the chart’s top two slots.”
Both remixes dropped a few days apart, and although Megan Thee Stallion’s remix placed second, she was more than happy to be a part of history.
I’m happy to be apart of the history that was made today 😭😭😭

Beyoncé also made history by becoming the first artist to get a top 10 hit in each of the past four decades – the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and this decade.
Although she has been in the music industry longer than the current leading rappers, with Say So Nicki finally got her first number one hit. She also holds the record for the longest wait for a first Hot 100 number one song – after 108 entries.
Nicki responded to a fan’s question about how she feels about the two younger rappers being on top, a few days before the news was officially announced.
Man, I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to be a part of this kind of history. I love all the girls involved. It just feels like an epic moment to witness & be a part of @ the same damn time. ♥️😘🦄 https://t.co/RSH9GIvMnn
