Nigerian artiste though very good with making hit music but their videos are usually off course, but now, it seems they are stepping up on the ladder.
While Nigerian artiste are known for giving their fans bops that can kick any gathering off, they haven’t generally demonstrated an enthusiasm for dropping music videos that help said bops. They ordinarily adhere to the mindless and the traditional.
Gratefully, there are a cluster of stars, for the most part newcomers, who really put some idea into the videos they discharge, bringing about amazing visuals that in a split second draw us in, as well as help lift the tracks they go with.
These days, a truly solid music video can shine for a number of reasons: being technically impressive (Maleek Berry’s “Pon My Mind”); genuinely heartbreaking (Adekunle Gold’s “Ire”); politically astute (Falz’s “This Is Nigeria”); or just plain hilarious (Simi & Falz’s “Foreign”).
So, with the year already halfway done, we’ve decided to celebrate eight of the best music videos we’ve gotten in 2018 so far. From the Starboy crew’s colourful “Soco” clip to Simi’s immensely romantic “Complete Me” video, these are our picks.
