Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has gifted a young Kenyan fan with the club’s jersey and boots. This is after the German footballer saw a photo of the boy, named Lawrence, wearing a self- made Arsenal jersey bearing Ozil’s number 10.
Lawrence’s photo was brought to Ozil’s attention after a twitter user named Eric Njiru tagged him.
“I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi, a city without really grass for cows. He told me he loves @MesutOzil1088 so much (you can see his shirt).
“Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real @Arsenal shirt,” Njiru wrote posted on December 3, 2018.
The photo did catch Ozil’s attention, with the footballer stating that the image had touched him so much.
The assists master proceeded to gift Lawrence and his brother an Arsenal jersey and football boots.
“The picture of a Kenyan boy with a self-made shirt on Twitter touched me so much. And look at Lawrence now- it’s so heart-warming to see him and his brothers happy,” wrote Ozil.
