33 Students Expelled From University Of Nairobi

33 pupils have actually been removed from the University of Nairobi over the strike that saw the institution shut.

The 33 were removed  after the University Senate ruled that they had actually purposefully screwed up the college and also left it having to shut indefinately.

Mike Jacobs, who contested the chairmanship of the University of Nairobi Student Union SONU was among those expelled.

” Those expelled were found to have put the University in disrepute and knowingly and willingly acted in a manner that put the lives of students, staff and members of the public in life threatening danger,” a statement seen by News24 stated.

They are among 150 students who were suspended over the strike which took place late last month to protest Babu Owino’s election win in the student polls.

It is not clear whether the 33 can appeal the decision.

The university is set to re-open next week after close to a month of closure due to the strike.
