Super Eagles players and officials were invited customarily upon their landing in their base camp in Yessentuki after they were given bread and salt.
Leader of the city, Alexander Nekristov, has said that the Super Eagles will make the most of their stay in Yessentuki.
In a meeting with Russian News Agency TASS, he said : ”I am sure that our visitors will feel our welcome and this will enable them to understand their most yearning designs.
”The footballers tried the bread and salt, it turned out they know our traditions. Everything went in a friendly atmosphere and ended with a photo as a keepsake.”
The Nigeria delegation flew to the Mineralnye Vody International Airport late on June 11.
The Super Eagles begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16 in Kaliningrad, six days later they face Iceland in Volgograd before their final Group D fixture against Argentina on June 26 in St. Petersburg.
