A 17-year-old boy has allegedly killed himself after his marriage proposal was rejected by his 12-year-old cousin, Naij has reported.
Usman Abdu, a Bauchi resident, was found hanging from a tree after his cousin refused to be his wife.
DSP Haruna Mohammed, PR Officer for the police, has confirmed the incident, claiming that the remains of the deceased have been deposited to his relatives for burial.
“The scene of the incidence was visited by police detectives led by DPO, Soro Division. The victim was photographed and rushed to Soro hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor,” Mohammed was quoted as saying byThis Day.
