Lingard eyes big future at Old Trafford


Cape Town – Manchester United and England U21 international Jesse Lingard is determined to prove his worth at Manchester United.Lingard suffered a serious knee injury just as he was breaking in to Louis van Gaal’s first team this past season and is currently on duty for England at the European Under-21 Championship.Lingard rescued the Young Lions when he scored the winner against Sweden and is eyeing a big future with his current club.

“I’ll see what the boss says when I get back.” theManchester United website reports.
“I’ve always wanted to play for Manchester United and that’s still my ambition. I was unlucky to get injured at the start of last season and I’ll never know where I would be now if I hadn’t got that injury.

“Scoring goals like this can only help. It gets your profile up and other teams see you as well as Manchester United. It can only be good for me. I kept in contact with Louis van Gaal last season and spoke to the Under-21s manager [Warren Joyce] a lot. He was guiding me and giving me confidence.”

Lingard was handed his senior debut for United’s opening match of the 2014/15 season.
