Zari Hassan’s mother, Halima Hassan, was buried on Friday, July 21, barely 24 hours after her Zari announced her death on social media. She passed on at age 58 and was buried in Munyonyo, Kampala.
Halima had been admitted to hospital for three weeks receiving treatment for heart failure, but her heart failed her earl in the morning the same day.
The Ugandan socialite, wife to Tanzania bongo star Diamond Platinumz and mother of his two children, eulogised her mother as the family’s ‘Old Sun’ who will be forever missed.
Friends and relatives gathered at Zari’s Uganda house after she flew in to the country from South Africa for the burial.
Hours later, Diamond surprised her when he and his mother flew into Uganda to be with Zari and her family.
She has two younger siblings, a brother and a sister.
Halima’s death comes 7 weeks after Zari buried her billionaire ex-husband who suffered a stroke. A vein broke in his head and had previously been diagnosed with hypertension.
Immediately after the burial, Zari had to rush back to South Africa because her youngest child, Prince Nillan, had fallen sick and had been admitted to hospital.
