In what was effectively a victory lap in the final run, 400m gold medallist Sanya Richards-Ross built on the exceptional work of team-mates Francena McCorory, DeeDee Trotter and Allyson Felix to canter home in 3:16.87, just shy of the biggest-ever margin of victory.
The Americans led early and strongly, building up a huge lead at the half-way mark as the only contestation became a question over second and third place.

Ultimately, Russia won the race for silver in 3:20.23, just ahead of Jamaica’s 3:20.95.![875191-14738038-640-360[2]](http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/875191-14738038-640-3602-300x168.jpg)
