Coaches Jessie J, Tom Jones, Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am and The Script frontman Danny O’Donoghue could QUITor be DUMPED in a massive shake-up, after the big-money Beeb show’s ratings have crashed.
ALL The Voice’s celebrity panel could CHANGE for next year’s show, it has emerged.
All four panellists have a contracted option for a second year but bosses have admitted that it could be all change when the show returns in 2013.
Viewer numbers have been falling since the blind auditions and battle rounds and now top brass at the BBC will examine ways of turning that around in series two – which has already been signed off.
An insider said: “Any new series has teething troubles and bosses will want to examine this first series of The Voice to work out what worked well and what didn’t work well.
“One of the issues will be the line-up of coaches on the panel and deciding if it is worth keeping all or some of them on board for the next series.”
Jessie J has come in for particular criticism after she slagged off parts of the show, saying it was “lame” to make all the coaches wear the same outfits for the duration of the blind auditions.
Viewers also commented on her surly manner on last Saturday night’s show.
But Jessie defended herself, saying she, too, had off days.
She said: “People think that when you’re in the public eye you’re different from everyone else.
“But you’re not. I still have grumpy days, I still have days where I have a migraine and I still get sad.
“I’m still the same and it freaks me out sometimes.”
