The Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA) intends to expand the scope of training of Ratings and Cadets under the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme (NSDP), a strategic intervention designed to address the manpower requirements in the maritime sector.
NSDP is fully sponsored by NIMASA, and is open to candidates from all the states of the Federation and FCT.
QUALIFICATIONS: (1) CADETS: Candidates who will sit for an entrance examination in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, must possess the following qualifications: At least 5 O Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject which may include Geography, Technical Drawing, Additional Mathematics, etc.
ELIGIBLE AGE: 18 – 22 years
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: B.Sc. Marine Engineering, B.Sc. Nautical Science and B.Sc. Naval Architecture.
(2) RATINGS: Prospective candidate will sit for an entrance examination in English Language and Mathematics and must possess WAEC OR GCE Certificate.
ELIGIBLE AGE: 18 – 30 years.
Cadets:
Every prospective candidate in the Cadet’s category is expected to sit for an entrance examination in the following subjects; English Language, Mathematics Physics, Chemistry and must possess the following requirements:-
Educational Qualification:-At least five O’level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other science subject which may include Geography, Technical Drawing, Additional Mathematics etc.
Eligible Age:- 18 – 22 years
Career Opportunites:-
Bsc Marine Engineering
Bsc Nautical Science and
Bsc Naval Architecture.
