The Federal Government of Nigeria has called for Expression of Interest from Service Providers for the Graduate Internship Scheme under the Community Services, Women and Youth Employment component of its Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P).
The objective of GIS to create opportunities for unemployed graduates to be engaged for a period of one (1) year in reputable firms to enable them acquire skills and experience to enhance their employability. The scheme will be a form of partnership with firms in which the firms get free labour and undertake to groom and mentor the interns to acquire skills and on the job experience, while government pays stipends for the interns. This will give firms the opportunity to build human capital prepared for current and future labour market and be part of man power base for national development. Firms that employ eligible interns after the 0ne year internship period will be considered for special incentives (e.g tax rebate). Small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) are strongly encouraged to participate.
• Be registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C) and other relevant professional bodies.
• Be prepared to provide a mentoring plan for each intern
• Be prepared with specific assignment for interns
• Be prepared to employ interns for a period of one year
HOW TO APPLY
The Federal Government of Nigeria hereby invites interested firms to express interested in the scheme by visiting our website www.wyesurep.gov.ng to complete and submit application forms online stating number of interns desired, and their qualifications. An ICT platform has been built to able the Scheme match firms and interns on the basis of qualifications and other criteria. Please note that all information will be verified before consideration.
