While the other half of the defunct Mo’hits Empire evolves into Mavin being led by Don Jazzy, D’banj is also reaching new frontiers as he has been made proprietor and President of the newly formed Def Jam Africa, the African arm of Island Def Jam. The Koko Master goes ahead to perform his first duty by signing Davido to the label.
The deal was initialized about 2 weeks ago in Atlanta, US (both acts are pictured partying it up at a club in Downtown ATL). But it was only finalised this past Wednesday, the 16th of May. Hypestation also gathered that D’banj’s younger brother, K-Switch is also reported to have been signed to the label which we learnt will soon be made official by the proprietor (D’banj).

Two weeks ago, Don Jazzy announced his new record label ‘Mavin’. Tiwa Savage become the first outside signing of Don Jazzy as others in the new label were already with him while in Mohits.
