Police in Zimbabwe has arrested a former Big Brother Africa winner, Wendall Parson over a supposed $25,000 scam.
Wendall, that co-won the Reality TV game show with Nigeria’s Karen Igho in 2011, was affirmed to have made false car insurance coverage claims after he was involved in an accident with his vehicle in March 2013.
Report has it that Wendall apparently guaranteed his Ford Ranger car with Alliance Insurance Company on March 18, 2013, 2 days after he crashed the same vehicle. He then allegedly lodged a false insurance claim of $25,000 for the same car.
The insurance company on suspecting a foul play launches an inspection and reportedly found out that Wendall however crashed the said car before it was insured.
This led to his arrest on Friday, while we compiled that he would soon be charged to court for prosecution.
Wendall won $200,000 from the competitors in 2011 and also obtained $50,000 cash from President Robert Mugabe for winning the show.
